The fishing with up to 5 special nymphs with a piece of lead on the end the end of the line on a fine rod is very exciting and often also very productive. In Swiss german the term of "Hegene" is used fpor this type of fishing, in french "gambe". It is mainly practised on our pre-Alpine lakes from boats for the target fish species whitefish and perch. The right hooks are important for successful fishing. The round hooks offered by Swissflies are fine, but not too thin-wired, as otherwise whitefish in particular like to slash out. As fishing is usually done at greater depths, it is not a good idea for a fish that has already been drilled hard to the surface to come off. It often dies anyway, as a barotrauma can occur. It therefore makes sense to use barbed hooks for this type of fishing.
