Mouches sauteuses - Serie 501-550, 1929

Undoubtedly one of Bickel’s most successful series. It beautifully illustrates the ingenuity of this fly-tier, who experimented with every conceivable type of feather and material – and in doing so invented many successful patterns.

Typical of this series are the feather-hackled flies (mostly duck feathers) used as the primary attractant for trout and grayling. They are still very effective today.
